I think the bus service standard is dropping rapidly. The coach is very busy and the drivers are no longer friendly and accommodating. We also had a mishap of failing hydraulics, the toilet would not flush and the bus stopped moving and parked at a walking distance from the Mthatha Ultra City, setting the journey back for an hour. The positive side was that of getting another bus not very long afterwards, meaning that Intercape is safely backed up. The mechanics were at the site of the breakdown already, which was also a good thing. Intercape is still the best, regardless of that mishap.
