Busbud recommends taking the bus from Seattle to Bellingham
Among the sustainable travel choices, the bus stands out as a good way to reach Bellingham. The journey takes about 2 hours and with fares starting at just US$21, it presents an excellent value for a comfortable ride.
According to customer reviews, there have been consistent complaints about the bus service being consistently late without any prior notice or updates. Additionally, some customers mentioned that their buses were cancelled last minute with no explanation and no compensation provided for having to go to an alternate location. When alternative options were taken, the buses still arrived late by 40 minutes without any reasons or confirmations given.
Greyhound bus was an hour & a half late to arrive at a convenience store in Grants Pass, Oregon. Then, upon our arrival on-time at 1:00 AM at the Greyhound Bus Terminal in downtown Seattle, the terminal was CLOSED!! All passengers without friends or family had no where to go. Nothing was open at that time of the night. No restaurants, no convenience stores, no affordable hotels (only a Marriot and a Hilton for $400/a night). My next bus for Bellingham not leaving until after sunrise, I was left to walk the dark streets hoping not to arouse the poor & homeless trying to sleep thru the night on the cold sidewalks and hoping not to encounter a violent thief looking for someone to rob.
Then, arriving back at the Seattle terminal after 8:30 AM, the Greyhound bus terminal is still closed, leaving passengers to guess whether to wait outside the office or to walk around to the back to keep checking on arrival of the next bus, less one might actually miss their bus! To add to the confusion, the after dawn noise from the municipal transit rail cars is deafening! One has to literally yell at another person only 2 feet away just to be heard!
Thereafter, arriving at the Farehaven terminal the next morning in Bellingham, passengers from ship travel, Amtrak, and bus passengers all meet together and enjoy a clean and quiet terminal park nestled within beautiful landscaping. Indeed, the contrast between the Seattle and Bellingham passenger terminals is far beyond night & day!! - Avoid arriving by bus in downtown Seattle at any time, night or day! The conditions are inhumane! Pets on leashes are treated far better!

My ride was cancelled. Had to book another flight last minute instead. Went from $45 to over $200. Thanks a lot.

Bus broke down and we had to wait 3 hours for it to come. The driver was lovely and really good, but something should have been arranged for us in that time.
Users have shared positive experiences with the bus service, highlighting its cleanliness and efficiency. The staff is frequently praised for being friendly, kind, and helpful. However, there are mentions of a slight delay in departure time due to train transfer issues. Overall satisfaction remains high among travelers who appreciate the quality of service provided.

The bus left an hour late. We were told ten minutes before the departure time that it was going to leave 10 minutes late, then no one came back to give updates. Then, the replacement bus was all electric which was good but there wasn't enough room underneath so bags, walkers, bikes, etc. were cramped on the inside. One compliment goes to the driver who was polite, helpful, and apologetic about the situation.

The driver was nice, the bus was clean, however, the air conditioner was broken and it was a hot trip that ran 50 minutes late

Scheduled bus was canceled 35 minutes before scheduled departure. Your next bus was full and I booked an Amtrak bus three hours 45 minutes later. This delay cost me my afternoon with my daughter who I only get to see for the weekend.
With a little more notice, I could’ve booked a similar time with greyhound and been on time to my destination.
Any improvement she can make are appreciated as I may not take the bus in the future

The bus was more than two hours late and we had to wait outside for a long time because the station closed.

Mediocre. Does a job for the price, but doesn't account for traffic in it's time estimates and is rather cramped inside.
