On Sun May 1 I had just finished hiking and got to the Odeceixe bus terminal as the bus showed up at 12.15pm to go back to Lisbon. I asked the driver to accept cash and he very rudely said 'NO'. He refused to let me on board and told me to catch the next bus at 4pm. He drove off leaving me standing there. I went to a local bar and they told me there was mo bus leaving at 4pm or any other time that day!! Some people gave me a ride to the next bus station towards Lisbon where I caught the next bus back to Lisbon. On this bus ride the driver accepted about about 10 people who had no ticket and paid cash!!! I asked him if the first driver should have let me on the bus and paid cash and he said 'Yes'. Leaving an elderly female alone at a bus stop in a strange country where she doesn't even speak the language, and tell her to catch the next bus when there is no more bus service for the rest of the day is disgraceful!!! And he had no reason to refuse cash. Disgraceful customer service.
