I tried to no ok onto Giant Ibis as I was told it was the safest and most comfortable bus for over night trips. On my ticket it said giant ibis but when I went to the bus stop for Giant Ibis I was told that this ticket was in fact for Virak Buntham. The very lovely man at Giant Ibis even called them to be sure and showed me on a map how to get to my new bus stop. When I arrived I handed over my ticket ans they could not find my booking for probably 20 minutes. In this time I looked up reviews for Virak Buntham. Granted, most of the reviews were quite old but they were absolutly terrifying to read before boarding. I wish I had have read them after. When I got on the bus I was excited to see I was in the bed at the front of the bus Adblock the bed was missive. I had brought my bags because other people on this bus company had had their bags stolen from under the bus. I quickly learned that a stranger would be sharing my single bed with me! I hit the jack pot and was sharing with a lovely Canadian boy. I asked how many stop overs and the driver and another person who worked for the bus both said no stops. I knew this wasn't true because all the people on the bus seemed to be going to different places. The first stop was in Phnom Penh at about one thirty we were ushered off and not specifically told which of your the other busses to get on. Once I was told where to go I was asked for my ticket which I had already given to my previous driver. They had to have a quick chat then I was put in a bed next to a sleeping lady. This next driver must have been in quite a rush because he would pass other cars so quickly it kept me awake. It was very scary.the bus stopped at six am ans I was told to get off. A man told me I needed to now pay to go to the bus office to get my connecting bus. I tried other ask someone in a Virak Uniform but none of them would speak to me. They all just walked away when I tried. I do not speak Khmer so maybe that's my own fault. For maybe thirty minutes I was pestered by a tuk tuk driver because he said I needed to go to the office. Finally I found an English speaking Virak worker. He was lovely and told me to wait by the other bus stop for an hour or so for the next bus. We waited almost two hours and were out on a mini bus. We got driving and the back latch of he van opened and some bags fell out and rolled down the high ways the driver refused to stop for quite some time. He finally stopped and some people sprinted off to gather their things. We kept our bags in the front after this. We arrive after 16hours of bussing. So we got there and I still had all my things. But that's the extent of it. Not a good experience over all.
